This blog tells the story of the Norton Neighborhoods Initiative, a venue and a vision for community development in the southeastern part of the City of San Bernardino, California, around the former Norton Air Force Base (now San Bernardino International Airport). Neighborhood students, doing their weekly "neighborhood service" help Sue and Valdimir, employees of Loma Linda University Medical Center's Community Outreach Department, pull out old fence posts so a brand new fence can be erected around the Norton Gardens, LLUMC's after-school site on Norman Road in San Bernardino.
